💚 A year in review

*|MC:SUBJECT|*
Hej,
Before we all head off into the holidays, we'd like to take a moment to look back at a few highlights of 2022. And so should you! Take a moment these upcoming days and celebrate yourself! Now, let's jump into it, Another Tomorrow's year in review. See you on the other side!
Logistics

Key to reducing Scope 3 emissions

Another Tomorrow has been working with DFDS - one of Scandinavia's largest logistics organisations - to help with the development of connecting their green transition projects to their customers' needs, in line with DFDS' high ambitions to transition. And as many organisations from all industries and geographies are targeting net-zero emissions in the coming decades, increased focus has been given to those hard-to-address.

Our approach? A collaboration model across supply chains. Therefore, Another Tomorrow launched a Co-Lab together with DFDS and some of its most valued customers, to enable imperative dialogue and collaboration â€” critical to the reduction of Scope 3 emissions.

As of now, we are developing several unique prototypes to both nudge and enable logistics customers to make more sustainable purchases today, and hence influence the ambitious offering of tomorrow. To scale this project and increase impact, we've expanded the Co-Lab membership and invited a number of additional organisations interested in reducing their Scope 3 emissions through collaboration between various actors.

The cross-organisational knowledge sharing enabled by the Co-Lab will accelerate prototyping and testing cycles of new commercial systems and solutions for a sustainable tomorrow.

Education

Training future climate leaders

We're excited to have continued our education track with our friends and collaborators over at Hyper Island (big shout out to Anna).

In the past year, we together have helped organisations such as Eton, H&M and DFDS to drive strategic, sustainable change through unpicking opportunities, upskilling their experts and innovating green solutions in the face of increasing uncertainty. From navigating imminent legislation, inventing green products and rethinking supply chains, the challenges faced in the emerging sustainable future require brave new mindsets and toolkits.

"By combining our prototyping and innovation processes with the expertise of our climate research partners, we’ve managed to find a balance of intensity and depth; creativity and rigour to devise rapid learning experiences that practically enable diverse teams to think strategically and collaborate confidently around these complex, often existential challenges", shares Another Tomorrow's Founder Joe Coppard.

The team

Another Tomorrow has been growing!

In 2022, Another Tomorrow focused on strengthening our own expertise within sustainability and climate action. Apart from deepening our partnership with climate researchers Åsa Löfgren and Sverker C. Jagers, we recruited three new colleagues and experts within their own fields.

Michael Bohlin, Business & Sustainability Analyst with several years of experience within the finance industry, sustainability consulting and research, who has been leading the development of our new tool TransitionView

Brianne Lee, Business Designer with a background in urban development and sustainable land use, who is managing one of our projects with the large Scandinavian logistics company mentioned above.

And finally, Lisa Stenvinkel, Head of Sustainable Impact, who we are lucky to have back after her years at UNDP. Lisa is focusing on new clients and the development of our climate action direction, defining our approach even further.

Also, we are looking to grow our team throughout 2023 so look out for future job announcements
Climate Leadership

What's holding organisations back?

Towards the end of the year, we were invited to speak at the Sustainable Business conference about how to overcome corporate climate inertia and accelerate the transition to net zero (get a sneak-peek of it here). Two weeks later, we hosted our first Climate Leadership roundtable on the topic of 'Roadmap net zero' together with industry leaders from PostNord, Tyréns and Stockholm Exergi. Learn more about the key takeaways and make sure to let Lisa know if you want to join the upcoming roundtable early next year!
Hackathon

Prototyping Utopian Futures

Throughout the first six months of the year, we were crafting and shaping an experience for up to 300 participants — Utopia Lab. A hackathon during the H22 City Expo in Helsingborg where decision-makers from both private and public organisations and youth came together to ideate and prototype utopian visions around topics such as Sustainability, Mental Health, Influence and Democracy, and Safety. Our partners, Youth 2030 and Helsingborg Stad are today evaluating and testing the ideas to make sure that the most purposeful and feasible ones will be turned into reality.

Learn more about the tailored process here and reach out to us if you're looking to craft a personalised experience in 2023.

We'll be taking a short break during the holidays and will be back with love letter #58 mid-January. Thank you for following along on our journey and if you have any ideas, suggestions, feedback for us, please do not hesitate to let us know (just hit the reply button)!

Happy holidays!
