Love Letter #18

Hej!

This week's newsletter brings you a suggestion for your upcoming team
check-ins and we've stumbled upon
some interesting things. Scroll down!
01 Remote Team Building

"I'm longing for the social interaction, the coffee banter and those little moments you experience on a daily basis when meeting colleagues in a physical environment"  — this is something most of us have heard (and said) frequently in the past months. Check-ins with low energy, the feeling of isolation when working from home and the lack of connecting with others. At Another Tomorrow we constantly thrive for better remote collaboration, both when it comes to using the right tools and facilitating different kinds of sessions. Here's an idea for more engaging and energising team check-ins.

Snapshot from a morning check-in where the team tried to clap at the same time without communicating with each other.

Choose a moderator — For each check-in (at Another Tomorrow it's Mondays and Wednesdays) we have a different moderator. This person is responsible for keeping the conversation going and making sure everyone is involved.

Choose a theme — The moderator chooses a theme, a specific question or subject to talk about.

Create a channel — To add another layer of connection, create a channel in your preferred messaging tool (we use Slack) to collect images, videos and thoughts around the themes.

A suggestion for themes — We're sure you'll come up with loads of subjects yourself but here are some ideas from our team:

- Share a picture or recipe of a memorable meal you've had recently.
- How do you deal with anxiety?

- Sharing images from a specific moment/time and give some background information.
- If you could travel back in time and give your 19-year old self some advice, what would you say?
In what way is your mind different on a sunny day compared to a day with grey and cloudy skies?

If you try it out, drop us a line and tell us how it went!

02 Interesting finds
> IKEA launches disassembly instructions to extend your furniture's life
'Extending the life of your furniture with out disassembly instructions is one of the way we're building on our commitment to sustainability. No matter whether you're moving home, giving your furniture away or selling it. Taking it apart correctly reduces the risk of damage and its impact on the environment', according to the furniture giant. Learn more about it here.

> Interactive quiz by LEGO teaches kids how to be kind and safe online
Making sure that time online is both safe and fun, LEGO has launched a playful interactive learning tool to teach children digital empathy skills. Read more here.

And that's it for this week's newsletter as our team has been quite busy with some new and exciting projects that we can hopefully come back to in our upcoming editions.

Until next time, stay safe and stay curious!
